About Susan

Susan (Grimm) Ring is a home-grown Indiana resident. She grew up in farm country around Atwood, Indiana. As a little girl, she loved to draw. One of her favorite places to visit was her neighbor's house which had a huge chalkboard in the kitchen.

Susan attended John Herron School of Art in Indianapolis after graduating from Warsaw High School. Painting professor, Harry A. Davis, instilled many long-lasting lessons. After marrying her husband, Keith, they settled in North Manchester where they raised two sons, Brandon and Derek. She is currently employed as a secretary at Manchester Jr.-Sr. High School.

Her love of painting which was discovered in college, has now been rekindled since 2000. Her sister, Sharon Forthofer (a talented artist in Texas) encouraged her to attend mini-workshops with nationally known artists such as Joseph Fettingis, Diane Maxey and Billyo O'Donnell. These opportunities gave her the skills to take her painting from a hobby to a new level.

Susan holds memberships with the Wabash County Art Guild, Lakeland Art Association, Hoosier Salon, Indiana Plein Air Painters Association and American Watercolor Society. Her paintings have been exhibited at the Honeywell Center Nine County Art Show, Lakeland Art Show, Wabash Art Guild Show, The Brass Latch Art Show, Heartland Artists Fall Show and Hoosier Salon.
